During her residency at Sporobole, Chun Hua Catherine Dong will explore the plasticity and plurality of the body, drawing inspiration from ancient Chinese mythology and folk art. Dong’s project focuses on reimagining a series of controversial female figures traditionally portrayed as seductive or dangerous spirits. Through the use of AI, she seeks to reinterpret these mythical beings and their bodies from a non-binary feminist perspective, offering a contemporary reading of culture and tradition.
