INTENSIVE PROGRAM | SOUND WINDOW
Marking the end of a year of artistic residencies, our intensive program brings together works by Marie Anne Bérard, Maryse Goudreau, Gabriela Hébert and Louis-Olivier Desmarais, created specifically for the sound window.
Whether transformed into a sound diary, tracing the path of whale songs, attempting to reconcile the community or embracing the passerby with the feeling of the ocean, the sound window’s 16 loudspeakers permit the artists to test their works in a public space prior to broadcast.
Almanac, Sonnaille, Coexistence and Flots will be presented outdoors in the sound window from May 19 to June 18, 2023.

For the occasion, Dans le ventre de la baleine, an immersive and sound work by Maryse Goudreau, will be presented in the gallery from May 19 to 21 inclusively.
The work offers an immersive sound and audio tactile experience. It reproduces the sensation of scuba diving and the feeling of waves emitted by belugas. Accompanied by a narration, the device creates the impression that our heartbeat is not only amplified, but also that it gradually transforms and becomes associated with a larger heartbeat in unison with the voices of a group of belugas in a nursery.
