2D and 3D Printing Studio

The 2D and 3D digital printing laboratory occupies a vast 1500 square feet of space.

Prints are made by our qualified technician on a Canon Pro-4000 printer using LUCIA PRO pigment inks, and an Epson Stylus Pro 3880 printer using Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigment inks.

Images can be printed on a variety of flexible media up to 44 inches wide. Printing rates are calculated per square foot and vary according to media type. Rates include pre-print adjustments and the printing of a test strip. Any retouching or image optimization work beyond these pre-print colorimetric adjustments will be charged at the current technical support rate.

The file formats required for digital printing are RAW, PSD, TIFF at 300 dpi minimum in RGB space (sRGB, Adobe98 or Prophoto RGB) for optimal printing (JPEG format should be avoided for reasons of file compression, which can cause destructive degradation of your image).

Our monitors are regularly calibrated for exact color matching with our printers.

The laboratory is also equipped with a 3D printer, a Creality Ender 3. The file format for 3D printing is the STL (Stereo Lithography) format, which does not include information on color, texture or the other usual parameters of a 3D model, but only the surface geometry of a 3-dimensional object.

It is essential to schedule a preliminary meeting to discuss your printing project, in order to estimate production costs and the feasibility of printing on our machines. Printing time can vary from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., depending on the size and complexity of your model. As STL files are particularly small, they can be transferred by e-mail or via a free transfer platform such as www.wetransfer.com without any problem.

Printing is always carried out by the Sporobole technician.
