Sarla Voyer
Present on the contemporary art scene since the early 1990s, Sarla Voyer has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, mainly in Quebec. Among her solo exhibitions, Loger/déloger à Plein sud in 2007, Vertige à Circa in 2005 and La maison phantôme at the Maison de la culture Frontenac in 2002, she took part in the second edition of the Biennale internationale du lin de Portneuf in 2007, presenting Refuge.In 2003, she completed an artist residency at the Rectoria, in Sant Pere de Vilamajor, Catalonia, and in 2009, she stayed at La Chambre Blanche, in Quebec City, where she created the in situ installation Retracer la ville. artist invited to invest the large auditorium of the Maison de la culture Ahuntsic in 2010, she deployed the monumental installation MÉMORIAL, which is continuing here. Sarla Voyer lives and works in Montreal. She obtained a master’s degree in visual arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal in 1997.
