Karen Vanderborght
Karen Vanderborght is a technologist, experience designer, educator, and digital dada artist (aka imagefatale) with three decades of innovation in the media industry. She reappropriates emerging technologies, subverting their hype cycles to better debug our digital humanity. Her work explores phygital play, co-creation with artificial intelligence, and speculative cyberfeminist futures, captivating audiences across Canada, South Korea, Belgium, Turkey, and the United States.
In 2020, she co-founded KrakXR, a boutique studio specializing in XR, as well as RAARAlab, an interdisciplinary art collective. Her hybrid practice, which combines art, research, and technology, has been recognized with grants, residencies, and awards. She is represented by Argos – Centre for Audiovisual Art (Brussels, BE) and Floating Point Gallery (Toronto, CA).
