Félix Bernier
Félix Bernier is an interdisciplinary artist originally from Montreal who now lives in Halifax. By incorporating his training in software engineering into his artistic practice, he explores the impact of digital technologies on physical environments and in social relationships. The sculptural and sound elements as well as the digital technologies he integrates into his photographic practice enable him to show the intricate connections between the physical and virtual realms. He completed his master’s degree in visual arts at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) in 2021 and has recently exhibited at Galerie de l’Université de Montréal, Musée d’arts Contemporain des Laurentides in St-Jérôme, the Arts à ciel ouvert festival in Charlottetown and The Craig Gallery in Halifax. He was nominated for the International Sculpture Center’s 2021 Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award and was the recipient of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Master’s Scholarship in 2020.
