Lily Koslow
Lily Koslow is a composer, pianist, and soprano based in Montréal. The aesthetic of their recent work contrasts delicate subtleties of timbral interplay with a dark intensity inspired by surrealist literature and diverse electronic music genres. Passionate about mixed music, they have pursued residencies for electroacoustic creation at the Yale Center for Collaborative Arts and Media (New Haven), Cultural Center of Ukraine in France (Paris), Akademie der Künste (Berlin), and McGill Percussion Ensemble (Montréal). Lily’s music has been presented at festivals including Composers Conference, International Divertimento Ensemble Academy, and SoundSCAPE, and performed by members of Talea Ensemble, Attacca Quartet, International Contemporary Ensemble, Ensemble Paramirabo, TAK Ensemble, and Nouvel Ensemble Moderne. Lily recently completed a Master’s in Composition at Yale School of Music, with teaching fellowships in electronic music and composition at the Yale Department of Music. They have studied with Jean Lesage, Katherine Balch, Martin Bresnick, Aaron Jay Kernis, and David Lang.
