Martin Beauregard
Martin Beauregard‘s work is crossed by audiovisual or computer data flows that give life to beings and things. They are incarnated in the materiality of real objects printed in 3D or generated virtually to create imaginary environments worked from within by history and current events. His works depict a post-ecological world facing economic, climatic and political emergencies. His installations are always marked by a change of state or form through which he develops a view on the visual translation of migratory phenomena, the aesthetic of flows, the digitalization and dehumanization of beings and their experiences. His production has been presented in more than 40 exhibitions in Canada and internationally, including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Rencontres internationales Paris/Berlin, Location One in New York, the CAPC Musée d’Art contemporain de Bordeaux, Ashai Art Square Tokyo, Musée d’art de Rouyn-Noranda. He holds a PhD in Art Studies and Practices from the Université du Québec à Montréal and a PhD in Art and Art Sciences from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, as well as a Master’s degree from the École des Beaux-arts de Bordeaux. He is also a professor and creator-researcher at the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
