From September 30, 2023 to January 14, 2024, the Joliette Art Museum presents Les intuitions, a first individual exhibition devoted to the recent work of Quebec artist Julie Favreau. Why are we telling you this? Because we gave Julie a hand in the design of one of the works brought together in this interesting body of videos, photographic installations and sculptural pieces, the majority of which have never before been seen in Quebec.

As part of a residency carried out between July and November 2022, the artist developed an interactive cinematic virtual reality work which is part of a multiscreen project composed of a short film, sculptures and sensory experiences. Taking as a starting point the haptic experience of the public caused by sculptures animated by dancers, the work promotes interactions and movements in the virtual space in connection with the narrative of the film.

Recipient of the creation residency in interactive cinematic virtual reality offered by PRIM and SPOROBOLE, Julie Favreau benefited from the know-how of both centers for the realization of her project.
