Biography(ies)

Born in 1978, Adelin Schweitzer lives and works in Marseille. He graduated in 2004 from the École Supérieure d’Art d’Aix-en-Provence, and since then has pursued an international career as a polymorphous artist at the crossroads between immersive performances, audiovisual experiments and new technologies. From Rimini Protokoll to Tinguely, Marc Pauline of S.R.L or Stelarc, Adelin is part of an artistic avant-garde lineage. Drawing from the imaginary worlds of science fiction and cognitive science, the artist traces over time the contours of a singular prospective universe. In 2015, he founded deletere, a laboratory for production and transmedia experimentation based in Marseille, and has since continued his research on technological deceleration, techno-shamanism and experiential art as an associate artist.

Frédéric Sechet was born in 1969 on the banks of the Loire. Born into a family of market gardeners, he trained as a pruner for ten years and practiced amateur “intervention theater” with the association Moquette rurale, meeting his audience in the fields, churches and village festivals. Actor and musician, he has collaborated since 1999 with many companies (Carnage Productions, Maboul Distorsion, Madame Suzie). Defender of a popular culture and confident in his ability to provoke laughter, he defines himself as an everyday stuntman who practices and teaches imbalance with conviction.

#ALPHALOOP

Adelin Schweitzer & le Collectif deletere

#ALPHALOOP is a project that deals with the theme of the sacred through the prism of the envisioned practice of techno-shamanism, which affirms that there is no dualistic opposition between Nature and Technology, no structural difference between computers and other “natural” manifestations of reality.

The show is freely inspired by the theories developed by Timothy Leary on cybernetic shamanism and is based on a research trip on the myths and cultures of Northern Quebec. This trip to Abitibi between August and September 2018 reinforced the dramaturgical writing of a work that takes a critical and singular look at Extended Reality (XR) technologies, the ideology of innovation and spirituality.

“A psychedelic experience is a journey into new fields of consciousness. Such experiences of expanded consciousness can occur through a multitude of means […] Very recently, these experiences have become available to anyone through the ingestion of psychedelic drugs […]. Of course, it is not the drug that produces the transcendent experience. It acts as a simple chemical key – it opens the mind, frees the nervous system from its ordinary patterns and structures.
