Roy Lu

Originally from the Philippines, Roy Lu now lives and works in Gatineau. He is one of the founding members of Mindworks, an event that first took place in 1983 and which is now held annually at the University of the Philippines in Cebu. He immigrated to Canada in 2007 and immediately became involved in Gatineau’s art scene. In 2008, he was nominated for the Golden Cherry Award for artist of the year in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. In 2010, he presented his work during the International Symposium of Contemporary Art in Baie Saint Paul and at the Festival international d’art performatif de Rouyn Noranda. Lu mostly works with performance, but he also creates various objects that he later integrates into his actions.
