Naoyuki Tanaka (NAO)
Naoyuki Tanaka, a.k.a NAO, calls himself a total material artist (TMA). He has lived in France since 1997. After graduating in 2003 from the École supérieur d’art d’Aix-en-Provence, he began working as an artist in the field of interactive multimedia performance. After more than ten years of work, commercial and collaborative artistic development, he turned to mixed-media robotics, an interest he’d had since childhood. Inspired by manga and 80s films, his works and performances take a cynical look at contemporary society, immersing viewers in a reflection on new, lost technologies.
