Michael Auschauer

Artist-author, creative digital engineer, micro-entrepreneur, designer, consultant Full stack design and creation of unusual web and media projects since the last millennium.

Born in Linz, Austria, Michael Aschauer was fascinated by technology from an early age. After a series of odd jobs, he pursued his passion for technology and art, earning a degree in visual media design and digital arts at Vienna’s University of Applied Arts.

His portfolio is varied, ranging from the creation of award-winning artworks that have been exhibited worldwide, to the development of Austria’s first GPS “app”. He has written code to help thousands of children learn to code, as well as code that has enabled him to travel thousands of river kilometers around the globe. He has also created real-time interactive sports visualizations for live broadcasts in Austria and Germany. His work has won him prestigious awards, including the Prix Ars Electronica.

He currently resides on a singular island in the south of France, where he continues to pursue outdoor activities such as cycling, swimming, surfing, running, hiking and climbing. He tries to enjoy nature while it’s still here.
