Born in Quebec (Canada), V\u00e9ronique B\u00e9land has been living in France for almost ten years where she graduated from the Studio national des arts contemporains le Fresnoy (Promotion Michael Snow, 2010-2012). She also holds a master’s degree in visual and media arts from the Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n
Since 2005, her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Canada, the United States and Europe (France, Belgium, Germany, Lithuania, Spain, Portugal). In recent years, she has been the recipient of numerous grants of excellence (FQRSC, SSHRC, FARE, Albert Dumouchel Award, Jacques de Tonnancour Award of Excellence, Ateliers Roland Proulx Grant, etc.) as well as various research grants (CALQ, DICR\u00e9AM, Pictanovo, FNAGP, etc). In 2012, her multimedia installation This is Major Tom to Ground Control<\/em> was also awarded a production grant by the city of Tourcoing, in addition to winning the Prix des Amis du Fresnoy.<\/p>\n In 2014, she published with Catherine Tremblay the book of photographic correspondences Elles [collectionnent] des mondes<\/em> at Editions du Renard.
