SOUND AND MUSIC CREATION WITH FONOFONE
Hearing is often perceived as the poor relation of the five senses, yet it is an integral part of our daily lives. It allows us to capture a multitude of natural or manufactured sound universes, which despite their apparent immateriality, are indeed concrete and captivating.
The various spheres of sound creation are many and varied. Sound spatialization, sound effects, electroacoustic music, Hörspiel and musique concrète are just a few examples.

COSIMU’s mission is to introduce young people to musical creation by DOING, with the aim of developing their creativity, through creative workshops and the production of concerts where young people are paired with professional composers and performers. To this end, the organization has created the Fonofone application for iPad (and soon Android), which offers an intuitive and fun way to explore the world of sounds, and to collectively create and perform original musical creations. The Fonofone approach responds to the three main thrusts of the music program: creating/inventing, interpreting and appreciating. COSIMU is directed by composer and teacher Yves Daoust. COSIMU’s artist-mediators are all creative professionals and have received appropriate training for working with young people.
