PAT JORDACHE AND SUPER FOSSIL POWER

Friday, June 3, 2011 at 9:30 pm, at Le Boquébière (50 Wellington Street North) Voluntary contribution.

“For a few years now, Pat Jordache has been producing concentric waves in Montreal’s dynamic Noise-pop community. His band Sister Suvi with Merill Garbus had a short life, but a meteoric impact, with a complex and dense lo-fi work that won respect from critics, including Pitchfork, for their album Now I Am Champion.

In his first shows, Pat Jordache performed alone, manipulating his recorded music with a DD-3 pedal that reproduces sound samples of only 1.4 seconds. These minimalist arrangements were soon supported by the explosive percussion of dual drummers Phillip Chanel, Jeffrey Malecki and Gillies Thom. Guitarist Rory Seydel (Shapes and Size) then joined the group, allowing a more faithful interpretation of the recorded songs. Throughout 2010, Pat Jordache toured the private concert circuit – in groups of 3 or 4 musicians -, performed tirelessly in Montreal’s underground venues, and made occasional forays into more mainstream environments, including his stunning late night performance at the Pop Montreal Festival’s After-Party event.”

«Super Fossil Power

a project by Montreal visual artist and musician Tyler K. Rauman, combines pleasant melodies with the Casio synthesizer, dancing drum tracks and vocal flights to produce a sound you won’t soon forget. His live performances are overflowing with imagination and give his musical creations a unique atmosphere. Super Fossil Power is currently producing their first album.»
