Indociles : processus narratifs permanents

Filles de Cassandre and gpeur.com

Presented in collaboration with the Maison des arts de la parole, the works Filles de Cassandre and gpeur.com are part of the “Contes indociles” series, a research, creation and production project of tales in podcast mode that privileges fictional content. The series questions the notions of presence, corporality and ubiquity of the word and the body. For the indoor redeployment of “Contes indociles”, the collective has developed strategies for broadcasting with or without the storyteller, to actualize a material presence of the sound performance.

Broadcast continuously, the multiphonic work Filles de Cassandre, by Céline Jantet, is a dystopian adventure at the height of the ecological crisis. It will be the subject of a live performance with the storyteller and the sound designer, Étienne Legast of the organization Audiotopie, as part of the festival Les Jours sont contés in Estrie. During the performance, the storyteller will interact with the sound universe and the audience. The questions of the presence/absence of the body and of the female voice will be at the heart of this happening. Indeed, between collective sound immersion and individual unplugged address, the creation will focus on the different modes of perception and on the new interstices triggered by physical presence.

Upstairs, the multi room hosts gpeur.com, a sound installation inspired by Paul Bradley’s tale of the same name in a podcast version. The collective proposes here a dreamlike adaptation of the premises of the agency gpeur.com which, after having conceived a particular artificial intelligence, flushes out stories on the net, transforms them and creates new ones that can be adapted according to its clients. Thus, different stations and sound objects broadcast sequences of the podcast allowing the listener to reconstruct the story in a non-linear way. At times, the machine takes control of the room and of all the broadcasting means. A true mise en abîme, the work takes up the main themes of gpeur.com: the ubiquity of the machine, the mystery, the process of investigation and the feeling of imminent death.
