CALL FOR PROJECTS 2021-2023

Image crée par Tanya St-Pierre

SPOROBOLE is launching a new cycle of research-creation-production residencies and invites artists from Quebec-Canada and abroad* to submit projects for one of the four residency programs we are proposing, which will cover the period from September 2021 to June 2023.

This cycle will focus on the notions of real / virtual, their border, their possible porosity. The almost generalized virtualization of communications, education and many cultural and leisure activities this past year forces us to reconsider our relationship to the physical world. How do the echoes of materiality in the digital world manifest themselves? Have they become our new points of attachment? What form can this liminal space between virtual and real take?
This thematic background will guide the choices of the programming committee in the selection of projects.

*Transportation outside of Quebec must, a priori, be covered by the applying artist. This aspect can be discussed.

Each residency includes :

  • Residency fee and per diems – $875/week;
  • Reimbursement of transportation (Quebec territory);
  • Private accommodation;
  • Technical assistance;
  • Reflective accompaniment.

Specific conditions (if applicable) follow in the description of each call.
Specific residency slots will be discussed with each artist and determined according to their availability.
Applications received will be evaluated by a selection committee and kept for a period of 2 years.

Only artists whose projects are selected will be contacted.

Deadline for receipt of applications: September 20, 2021.
