SOUND SPATIALIZATION: THEORY AND PRACTICE APPLIED TO SOUND CREATION

The spatial composition of sound is now important in several artistic fields: electronic music, electroacoustic music, sound art, sound installations, film soundtracks, etc. This training aims at transferring solid theoretical and practical bases for artists, musicians and composers who want to incorporate space in their work on sound or in music. The training, at an intermediate level, will be mainly based on the Reaper software, and will include significant individual practical work.

At the end of this training you will be able to :

– Understand the mechanics of sound localization ;

– Manage systems with several loudspeakers;

– Distribute sound in space with the appropriate computer tools.

Target audience: Digital artists, sound designers, musicians and composers.

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of digital audio and use of Reaper software.
