Virtual reality artworks online
Forever keen to expand our knowledge of the digital realm, to offer alternative ways of experiencing art, and to diversify artists’ sources of revenue, Sporobole and 0/1 – Hub numérique are currently exploring the broadcasting possibilities offered by the online platforms Steam and itch.io.
While Déjà-vu, our virtual and immersive sound diffusion platform, can now be found on both websites (a platform on platforms is indeed very meta, yes), we’ve added two virtual reality works produced as part of research and creation residencies at the 0/1 studio-labo. Now available on Steam and itch.io, Méandres, by Stéphanie Morissette, Autofading_Se disparaître, by Caroline Gagné, and Le corps-glitch (multitudes) by Marie-Ève Levasseur are incursions into sensitive environments with which humans interact. They use virtual reality technologies and are more specifically designed for the Oculus Rift.
